September LIVE Piazza

Thank you to everyone who joined us at LIVE Piazza — BACK TO YOU!

What a night, what a beautiful atmosphere.

We just wanted to take a moment to capture the magic of our latest LIVE Piazza. When we came up with this theme, we had a feeling it would be an emotional one. We felt, as a team, that we needed to acknowledge what a challenging time of year this is. We’ve each had some of our own personal challenges over the last couple of months, and many of our lives have changed over the past two years to the point of being almost unrecognisable. So we knew we had to take a moment to reflect on that, to celebrate our resilience and speak to those childhood ambitions. This September we wanted to help you get BACK TO YOU, but we were also so excited to be back with you.

We started with an amazing story of Alchemy from Antimo, who also blessed us with a beautiful musical collaboration he’s been working on.

“"I made this incredible connection through a HubDot LIVE Piazza. She’s an Indian singer and multi-instrumentalist and I’m a Italian pianist and composer based in London. We started exchanging ideas over the internet: just my piano and her voice. Now we're starting an exciting project together.

It all happened in the blink of an eye. Two worlds apart, two different cultures blending through the power of music."

We then met Sukki, who shared the most powerful and inspiring story. Sukki, also known as Sukki Menon or “Sukki Singapora”, is an entertainer, actor, humanitarian and activist. Starting in burlesque, she achieved international recognition for campaigning to make burlesque a legitimate art form in Singapore and winning, and for fighting for womens’ rights worldwide. Her work led to an invite from Buckingham Palace, a campaign with Facebook and a Generation T Award for being one of the Top 50 Individuals shaping and changing society. Her television debut with Netflix, in the cult show Singapore Social, has seen her move to the big screen, along with features in Rolling Stone Magazine, Forbes, the BBC and CNBC International. In addition, she’s the Global Ambassador for The Sharan Project, a nonprofit organisation that provides support and advice for vulnerable South Asian women.

We were also very excited to introduce you to Moses, who we met on Clubhouse. Moses is an incredible musician from Nigeria who shared his own heartfelt story of resilience and courage, as well as playing the most beautiful guitar piece. Coming from a Muslim background, Moses converted to Christianity in the 90s, facing rejection from close family and isolation from community. At this challenging time Moses found solace in music and his talents and embarked on a journey to find his voice. Having reconnected with his mother and siblings recently, he finds himself in a good place - the perfect ‘BACK TO YOU’ story. We’re so grateful he was able to share his story and his big heart with us, and his music was nothing short of magical.
